Trump/They Live-Billboard in Mexiko

A few months ago, for the heck of it, I innocently started a ‘Go Fund Me’ campaign https://www.gofundme.com/trump-lives to get my Trump/They Live artwork on billboards across Washington. My wide-eyed sales pitch went as such […]

Yes, I don’t think much of Donald Trump, but I soft-selled this as much as humanly possible when making the pitch to anyone I could find, but it was a no-go TO EVERY SINGLE BILLBOARD COMPANY IN THE UNITED STATES! I thought that was the end of it. But then, cue music, the brave folks across the border, the upstanding heroic citizens of Mexico that Trump based his campaign on objectifying as rapists and criminals, had the cojones to give Trump the FU.
God Bless Mexico, the only country left that has the freedom to display the The Trump/They Live Billboard!

Google Assistant vs. Blade Runner 2049

I just laid the audio from the Blade Runner 2049 trailer to the new Google Assistant ad. I’m scared. Literally no extra editing involved 😳

Princess Leia’s Stolen Death Star Plans – Beatles vs. Star Wars (Mashup-Album)

This year marks two important pop-culture milestones: The 40th anniversary of Star Wars on May 25, and the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band a week later, June 1. Our new album merges both into one full-length concept album titled Princess Leia’s Stolen Death Star Plans. It’s the entire Beatles album as accurately as we could record it, only now it tells the story of Star Wars: A New Hope — in order. We sweat the details on both sides in an effort to do both cultural milestones justice. Writing hyper-specific lyrics that match the original songs’ cadences; reverse-engineering everything the Beatles recorded, from distorted saxophone riffs to Indian tabla rhythms; recording everything from scratch and learning as we went — well, that’s what takes five years.

Um die Zeit bis zur Premiere von „Rogue One: A Star Wars Story“ etwas zu verkürzen, hier der Nachfolger des großartigen Bushes Of Love. Wer mehr Zeit mitbringt, kann im Anschluss noch Attack of the Phantom Past von den Auralnauts schauen.

(Danke für den Tipp, Stefan!)

A Silent Story – Pulp Fiction

Do you imagine Pulp Fiction without dialogues? We all know that Quentin Tarantino is one of the best filmmakers out there, and the use of violence and long dialogues are some of the good aspects on his movies, but what if we removed those aspects from one of his best films? What would Pulp Fiction be like if there were no violence nor dialogue?
In this video essay serie called “A Silent Story”, we will see how the story of a film unfolds with no dialogue, just leaving the original ambient sounds, pretending everything is under control and focusing on what does a body language transmit when the character is not talking at all.
